expected to go beyond 1 euro per kilogram for the producer. The product, which is
still in the process of harvesting, is estimated to be of better quality than last year,
although the quantity is estimated to be reduced due to weather conditions.
The heatwave and other severe weather conditions, such as hail, etc., contributed to
the limited harvest in almost all production areas of the prefectures of Corinthia,
Achaia, Ilia, Messinia and Zakynthos.
According to the chairman of SKOS S.A (Corinthian Raisins Cooperative) and
Panegialios Union, Thanassis Sotiropoulos, the prices are expected to be quite
satisfying for the producer, higher than last year which had ranged from 0.90 to 1
euro.
