The development of business activities between Greece and Thailand is the objective of the Hellenic-Thai Chamber of Commerce (HTCC) that has just been formed.
The presentation of the Chamber and its objectives was held on 20th October in Athens by Theodore Koumelis, co-founder of the Hellenic-Thai Chamber.
According to Mr. Koumelis, who is the owner of Travel Media Applications, the two markets know each other and there is a great cooperation interest in tourism, which comprises a large industry for both countries, as well as in trade.
Concerning Greece, food and beverage exports are also of great interest. Greek products such as feta cheese, yoghurt and olive oil are already on the Thai market on a low scale. What is needed, however, is to ensure a consistent quality and quantity for each product that is launched in the Thai markets.
Greek businesses can exploit the dynamic presence of Thailand's commercial charity bazaars and major trade fairs. The ultimate goal is to establish B2B meetings between entrepreneurs from both countries with the support of the Chamber In the trade fairs.
At the presentation event held at a central hotel in Athens, it was also announced that the Chamber is planning the ‘Yummy Greece’ festival in October 2018 in Bangkok with Greek products and shows with the participation of well-known Greek and Thai chefs.
Another goal of the Hellenic-Thai Chamber is the relaunching of the direct flight Bangkok – Athens, in order to boost entrepreneurship and tourism.
Within the next month the registration of members from both countries is expected to commence, so that official elections are then held for the nomination of its administration.
